Great action PB, you have to be prepared

Thanks Snappy, it was a deliberate ploy for the Kingies, walked up to one bridge with the 800mm on, for the portrait shots, then put the lighter faster 400 on for anything that might be flying quickly.... it seems to have worked

Jeez as if me with the bullfinch wasn't bad enough PB you need to stick the boot in even more with them cracking Kingies.....poor SM

It's a cracking spot, maybe 200 yards long between two bridges, on a paved path, and the other side of the river is the town

Superb set of photos PB . Given the distances involved the level of detail is astonishing.

Very modest of you PB. Equipment handling and knowledge of your subject trump modern lenses anytime. I am certain buying top notch kit for myself would not produce results such as yours. The old saying "all the gear and no idea" was coined with me in mind.
