Devastating to see the whole brood on Glaslyn nest died

It might be lack of food peregrine, since Aran couldn't hunt. I know they tried to provide food for them but maybe they rejected it for some reason? So sad

There is still a marked difference if the size of the chicks at Loch of the Lowes. The eldest is quite a bit bigger. Their behaviour is different. The eldest is sitting up and moving around the nest. whereas the younger chick is still lying in the nest cup most of the time.

Been busy and haven't seen the Loch of the Lowes chicks since Sunday 30 May 2021. Wow!!how they have grown. Now beginning to look like little Ospreys.
Have a look at the Glaslyn blog. They are trying to give an explanation as to why the three chicks died.

Don`t seem to be a good year for birds in general. Shame about the chicks.

Chicks at Lowes being fed at the moment. Oldest chick not far off the size of the female.

Both chicks at Loch of the Lowes have been ringed. Don't know when this happened, can't find anything on the blog.
