Loch Arkaig - Its not Aila on the nest but Louis. Aila hasn't arrived yet and is a bit later than expected. She didn't arrive until 28 April in her first season here so there is still time.

Loch Arkaig - Louis is bringing in more lichen and sticks and re-arranging the nest. He is having some problems with a stick he brought in earlier. It is the light coloured one to the bottom right of the nest that has three twigs coming up from it. He tries to move it with the far away twig but gets nowhere. Louis just returned to the nest and tries again to move the said stick but to no avail. Sure he will succeed eventually when he tries the thicker part of the stick.

I didn't see it, but Louis has managed to move the stick slightly.

Loch Arkaig - Unknown female on the nest this morning for a very very short time. Companion for Louis maybe? If Aila arrives, its going to be fun.

All peaceful at Glaslyn and Loch of the Lowes, incubation continuing. Same can't be said for Loch Arkaig. Louis has been on the camera nest every day. There are ospreys spending time at one of the other nest nearby. Could be Louis and the another female we have caught glimpses of? Louis may raise a family away from the camera tree this year, however there is time still for action here. A new pair may come and take over. Aila may show up yet but what will happen if Louis has a new female at a new nest?

Watch this space!!!!!

Even the Dallas script writers couldn't write this.

Don't ospreys mate for life peregrine? I thought they did  Could it be that something happened to Aila and Louis knows that, and that's why he is with another female? Its a bit worrying  . But yes, if she turns up feathers will be flying
