Been away and haven't seen the chicks for a few days. How they have grown.

One of the chicks is trying to rearrange the nest material

If you haven't looked at the cam for a few days try it now. See how the chicks have developed and looking great. Obviously 'Dad' is bringing in enough food.

Torrential rain here in Dumfries. Looks like there has been rain at Loch of the Lowes but not too much.

Lots of wing flapping going on as the chicks strengthen their wings.

Yes Butterfly, both chicks looking great. Some food left kin the nest. One chick is tearing it apart and having a good feed.

One of the chicks is doing a lot of wing flapping. NOt actually 'hovering' as such but going from one side of the nest to the other. Can;t be far off the chicks being ringed etc.

I just looked and I see only one chick on the nest. Where is the other one? Has it fledged?

Didn't see it happen (yet again)

PT5 fledged on 6 July 2019
PT4 fledged on 7 July 2019

They will still come to the nest but this will become less frequent. Now they have fledged the female will 'fatten' up for a while and then disappear as she will be the first to migrate. Fledglings will be next and then finally the male. My it has been a quick season.
