The BTO have announced that one of their longest serving tagged Cuckoos is MIA somewhere over the Sahara. It is Chris who was first tagged in 2011 and he has provided more information to the project than any other bird. :(

Some of this year's arrivals are already beginning to turn south.
Lots more have been tagged for the first time this year :) 'cos many of the original ones have gone to the great reed warbler's nest in the sky.

You can't blame them for heading back to Africa. I would too given the chance if only to get away from all the referendum hoo-haa.

This hoo-haa is the most importantest, honestlyest felt information you will ever have received for the second time in your whole life, dispensed by farseeing noble statespersons all of whom know without doubt or question what is best for us. Your civic duty must be weighed, balanced and exercised in a franchisey sort of way when your mature, sober and deeply felt conclusion has been arrived at next Thursday between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm (postal vote permitting).
The weight of history boughs down your reluctant yet determined shoulders. Your decision will change the future of millions both within and without, without and within.
And following the exercitation of said franchisey kind of cross within the borders of a square we all get to stay up all night and watch David Dimbleby tell us all about it - and again on Friday, and Saturday, double issue on Sunday, and so on infinitum.
Hark !! Can you hear the ghostly future echoes drifting down the months and endless years, all saying, "I told you so !!".

"Some people think it's all over ..... it never will be." :shake:
