No. Although they are not good for our natives, killing any you can find in your garden is not going to dent the population in any way really.

ladybird 001 (250x188).jpg
This (you have to take my word for it !!) is a juvenile ladybird. This is the best of 3 pix I took - it's on the outside of the kitchen door and very high up so I couldn't take a proper pic.
The temp. was 52F and tomorrow I confidently expect to photograph a Red Admiral .

Sorry I can't see the Ladybird :( I think it must be obscured by the toast crumb you had on the lens. :)

I know, I know . It looks like one of those photos you're supposed to believe is a flying saucer !!
Today it was 58F !!!!!!! Probably too hot for anything to be engaging in physical activity like flying or crawling up back doors.

:ladybird: This afternoon I rescued ten ladybirds from the mower - they probably would have been alright but I was scurrying about putting them on the strawberries  :ladybird: :ladybird:

While I was Butterfly hunting I came across this little scene. If you enlarge the photo you will see the little brown things are ants and the 7-spot has rocked up to help them keep control of a aphid colony. :ladybird: :ant:

There must have been 6 - 7 I saw whilst hunting for Solo Sturkling and I have a horrible feeling they are harlequins not ladybirds.
They were almost exclusively on the holly but that was no comfort at all :weep:.
