Saw a large fox in the garden last night - it spent quite some time eating the dog biscuits then strode off with the fat block

On Thursday morning I found that several areas of earth around the dog biscuits and fat block were quite deeply gouged up.
Wondered why they would do this and whether it was something other than a fox having done this

Foxes will eat worms so perhaps one has been digging some out.
