Good morning all,

The other night i came across a squirrel sat on my front garden fence and it seemed to be nibbling on a bit of tree bark? Is this normal as it is not something i have seen before.

Hi johnd - yes, they nibble on tree bark and can destroy trees over time - one of the reasons people get irritated with them.

I can't see your photo properly yet but looking forward to ....

The best thing about wildlife is that there is so much to learn.

I do not know this as a fact but it would not surprise me if they nibbled bark to sharpen their teeth. :squirrel:

Well that's what rodents do, isn't it ?? 'Cos their teeth grow constantly.
