Mrs JS found a Small Tortoiseshell in one of the chateau bedrooms. It's lack of movement convinced her it was deceased but during an attempt to move the body it sprang into life. I was summoned to relocate and obliged by putting it in the garage. I know they do hibernate so I'm hoping it finds a cosy billet. Spring is a long way off and it is sharing will many spiders

I'm a little surprised the RAs are still around I would expect them to be in winter hibernation now.

My first butterfly of the year today. The ever reliable Brimstone which is usually first to get going.

It might have been the same one as yesterday but I couldn't see the ring on his leg

Sounds like the same one - disobeying the self-isolation laws. Rebels everywhere

Yeah he was at it again today. I'd report him but I didn't get his number
