I spent a good bit of time in the garden today. The butterfly of the day was the Holly Blue abley supported by Large and Small Whites. I did catch a glimpse of one Painted Lady

walked the lanes this morning. Not a great seal of butterflies around, those that were was mainly speckled wood.

Wonder why the 'record numbers' figure wasn't achieved last year when it was sooo hot for sooo long ?
This year hasn't really been exceptional, in fact some days it was decidedly cold or decidedly wet and cold.

A Comma butterfly arrived in my garden today

Seeing mainly red admirals now and I believe spotted wood.
