Hows your heron doing Jack? Still around harassing your frogs?
I have not seen it since Wednesday. :)

I'm still travelling, in a Mediterranean country at the moment, and to my surprise, I saw a starling murmuration yesterday! Totally unexpected :faint: . That means that starlings that have been in UK for the winter are making their way to their respective countries :flying: It always amazes me to think that such small birds fly such long distances twice a year. Really amazing :)

More than what I saw yesterday. Found my first nest of the new season. Both surprised and delighted that it was a song thrush nest. In a deep lane around nine foot up on the bank. Could see a head and beak.

I see birds flying with their beaks full of nesting material all the time now, all of them, crows, magpies, doves .... so sweet
I put out some wool that I bought on ebay on offer in the garden, if anyone needs it, but I don't think I had any takers
My birds are more or less back, all of them apart from wren, I still haven't seen my wren around since I got back

Everyone has been very busy in my garden, including myself  . Birds definitely have nestlings because all of them, starlings, robins, great tits, are taking beak full of food away, clearly feeding their babies :bird2: . I saw a blue tit on my hanging basket today, taking coconut fibres from it! I've never seen something like that before, it was very cute :D . My robins always fly and land really close to me now, every time I go out with food. They go to their little tray, which is away from others, and check it immediately, and if I didn't put mealworms there they give me "that" look, the one that makes me feel guilty and makes me want to apologise  . Starlings are having so many baths, I had to refill the bird bath 4 times today :faint:
Only my handsome blackbird is still single :( . I can't believe it, such a good looking guy!
