WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Willpar's getting all the Meggles of the Month this month !! A rare oasis of comfort you must have .
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
A Goldcrest again this morning, flitting about the berberis on the small plot.
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Good going Willpar , you are getting some nice visitors .
While I was putting the food in the trays this morning, this bluey landed on a coconut nearby and started eating, really close to me
I didn't want to move not to scare it off, and it stayed there for few minutes eating happily, clearly not seeing me as a threat . It was amazing to see it up close

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Due to the overnight cold I made sure my birds had fresh water in the birdbaths. This proved very popular both for the Sparrows and the Starlings. Every time I looked out the window someone was taking a bath.
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Sorry ?? Are you saying that the neighbours also avail themselves of this H2O opportunity, or are you merely anthropomorphosising your sparrows and sturks ??

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I see my sparrows have switched from seed to suet pellets. Probably a wise move. And my two dunnocks seem to like crushed fat ball As supposed to seed they usually eat.
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Its weird, I thought suet pellets are better for this cold weather and will be eaten more, but starlings seem to disagree . They are eating more mealworm, more than before. Crazy birds . Tits love sunflower hearts, blackcap is into suet pellets. Wren and dunnocks are into their little seeds

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
An invitation was extended to my neighbours regarding free access to the bird bath but I drew the line at nude bathing so they demurred.
