Robin
Re: Robin
Early this morn 'my' robin came onto the patio wall right in front of the kitchen window. This is his winter behaviour when asking for food. Hurried with his breakfast, and watched him fly off with a suet insect pellet in his beak.
Later (elevenses ) he did the same thing. Second brood I think .

Re: Robin
I have seen one of my Robins gathering nesting material. It looks like round two(or maybe three) is starting.
Re: Robin
Sub-teenage robin . Copying other birds at the ground feeder cage. Went out with suet pellets and sunflower hearts (guaranteed to hook a new Best Mate !!). He/she stayed when other birds flew into the shrubbery to watch - put offering down gently and retired, speaking softly.
He/she was straight in. I think this one will be around come winter .

Re: Robin
I still have a nest being serviced. I hope the adults are finding sufficient food for the nestlings.
Re: Robin
Bobbin, the Best Mate, brought his eldest (second brood) this morning for formal introductions. Occasionally this has happened before and I think it must be imprinting the youngster with my special whistle and the link with food. Sort of Barmy But Harmless.
