A Jackdaw gathering nesting material in the front garden. I think that is a first for the chateau gardens.

Mrs. Blackbird with a beakful of moss and very busy she looked too. Himself was nowhere to be seen .

I very rarely see the Sparrowhawk that patrols my area. He turned up today and found a Starling to have for lunch

Very sorry, particularly as sturks are on the decline. However, all part of Life's rich tapestry and all that.

Sadly missed by myself but number 2 daughter spotted a Pheasant flying from the chateau garden this afternoon

A rare event - a jay !! But not only a rare event but two rare events = 2 jays !!!
The couple were in the severely cropped silver birch and I suppose the reason they hung around for at least 30 seconds was that there happened to be no ground food out at that moment.
