The first snowy day in my area of the SW Midlands saw the arrival of a Fieldfare. It was attracted by the apple halves I had put out for the Blackbirds. It took full ownership and remained all afternoon trying to guard four pieces of apple in different locations.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
A second Fieldfare rocked up today to join the one who thinks it owns the garden. A power struggle ensued which ended in an uneasy truce. The agreement seemed to be that they would take it in turns to police the food but in the end they became tired of the role and the remainder of the birds were able to carry on mostly unmolested.
Another rare visitor for me also looked in for 10 minutes. Waggy Wagtail.

That's good, Jacksparrow, it all must have been intriguing to watch ... and a Waggy Wagtail too
