Mrs Woody continues to brood her eggs stoically regardless of what the great British summer weather throws in her direction. A Jackdaw appeared for a while this afternoon making plenty of noise above her head in the same tree. I was alerted by Mrs JS and dispatched to see it off. :) :wife:
In all honesty I am still doubting that the nesting attempt will end in success due to the site and the likelyhood of it being disturbed. :shake:

I am convinced my neighbour has no idea he is supplying accommodation for a Pigeon family. This afternoon I heard the alarm going on his elderly Saab car which is only a bout 6 feet from the brooding Woody. It was set off by my neighbour trying to rectify a fault it has triggering for no reason whatsoever.
All the way through the tests and the door slamming Mrs Woody sat still as if nothing was going on. She has nerves of steel.

Maybe, just maybe, Mrs. Woody knows why the car alarm is going off at regular intervals :chuckle:

Another test for Mrs Woody's nerve today. This time it was me mowing my front lawn followed by a noisy strimming session. She didn't even fidget :)
I now think my neighbour knows about the nest as I saw him looking up at it last evening.

What a fascinating little saga this is, to be sure. Mrs. Supercolumba :P.

I have been away for a few days but returned eager to see if Mrs Woody was still sitting. I pleased to say she is still in situ but having to endure the 30 degree heat at present but at least there is little danger of her clutch going cold. :)
Edited to add that I'm expecting the eggs to hatch this week. :)

There was a deal of fidgeting on the nest today and I wondered if hatching was underway but for the last few hours normality has been restored. Maybe tomorrow. :)
