Greeted by a pied wagtail in the carpark first thing. Was not even proper light. Gave it a few mealworms.

Not a great picture because it was dark and on my phone but I parked by a tree at the supermarket this week and could hear a lot of twittering and looked up to see the tree was rammed with wagtails. I've never seen that before. I only ever see them on their own walking around.

I think "Winterwatch" gave them attention a few years ago. I believe it was down in Somerset(possibly Taunton or Bridgewater) and the trees were in the town centre. They decided it was the heat from the buildings which was attracting them.

That's a lot of wagtails, and a great photo Kev. Whilst on the subject of wagtails, Have had none this year so far in the carpark. Last winter they only stayed a few weeks.

Took a walk down the woods yesterday, and in the next road down there were two pied wagtails, but still nothing here.
