I spotted two Sparrows flying away from the nest box today. Nothing wrong with a little house hunting but a tad nippy for egg brooding at present. :cold2:

Toady was Sparrow Sunday :). Baby sparrows being shown around for the first time (actually they were quite elderly babies as they had their wing plumage ) but a lovely sight nevertheless.
One in particular was trying to come to grips with the ground feeding cage but it was a leeeetle bit beyond its grasp - maybe tomorrow it'll be able to follow mum inside and tackle the goodies :).

For my Sparrows it seems the breeding season is over for another year. I would guess it has been reasonably successful as the current visiting flock appears about 30 strong. :)

Wow! That's nice Jack, I love sparrows <3 There was few of them coming to my garden but I haven't seen them for few days now. I hope they come back :)

My sparrows have had a good season, with plenty of young ones. I am a little surprised at how well they are doing around here, as the houses are not really wildlife friendly with hardly any places to build nest. Newer houses are like that. One place I knew they were nesting where some mortar fell out has been filled in.

 Haven't noticed any diminution in speug numbers, Jacksparrow. Been a good season I think, and the visitors reflect that.

I think only two of the three available boxes were used in my sparrow terrace but they seem to be finding billets very close by. There are some houses in my road over 100 years old and I've noticed some of them are not in the best of repair. I realise I am lucky to have them as some areas are sparrow deserts but I do my bit keeping them fed and supplying their bathing needs.
