When my Sprawk was regular visitor he would occasionally try the sit and wait method. On one occasion he nearly had my Wren which was fossicking around in the leaf litter. Unfortunately for the Sprawk his guess at where exactly the Wren was off target and wee Jenny escaped :eek:

FIL saw Sparrowhawk near his feeders the other day. No sign of a kill but he can't be sure.

Heard a kerfuffle a little while ago in the garden - even ferret man came out of his garage to (try to) see what was going on - a sturk :(

Shame its such a good looking bird. :wave2: I have not seen my one this week he ate everything but the feathers. :eek:

Once a Sprawk has a grabbed a victim it is difficult to persuade it to let go. If disturbed it will just fly off with it to somewhere quieter.

A blur of grey low across the garden yesterday but no 'hit'.
First thing today, a pile of feathers on the lawn. For the first time (I've often wondered), I'm sure that a feral pigeon was taken.
