I'm happy to report this Blackbird is still around. His tail has grown back a little but he still looks very scruffy. Most of my BBs appear to have disappeared for their autumn moult but he remains and has more sultanas than he can handle.Jacksparrow wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 8:35 pmI have had a tailless male BB visiting and for some time I've thought he'd just had a close shave with a predator, however I got a much closer look today and he appears to be suffering from a mite infestation. He is losing feathers from his head and begins to look a bit scruffy. I also noticed he's starting to make flying look like hard work. Apart from all that he's doing all the usual BB things. I'll need to keep an eye on him.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
A full month later and he made another appearance today. The tail has grown back fully but still looks in slight disarray. The feather on the top of his head are still missing so I'm hoping he is over the worst for the time being.Jacksparrow wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 7:42 pmI'm happy to report this Blackbird is still around. Blackbirds are beginning to come into the garden now. Usually first thing in the morning. Had two his morning waiting for food.
