BLACKBIRDS
Re: BLACKBIRDS
Unusual sight ..... a blackbird !!!
She was just hopping around the lawn, prospecting for breakfast. Good to see.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I have seen a Blackbird once in the last three weeks though I suspect he is coming more often as the sultanas are disappearing and nothing else bothers with them since the Sturks departed.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I went to the bird table this morning with some scraps and came face to beak with a male blackbird. We exchanged glances and I got the impression I was expected to depart and leave him in peace. However the goodies had to be delivered and he reluctantly gave ground.
I did notice that his head was nearly bald due to a lice infection.

Omg , I hope he recovers Jacksparrow, I read that it can be dangerous for them? That if the weather gets cold the bird can't retain heat properly due to the lack of feathersJacksparrow wrote:I went to the bird table this morning with some scraps and came face to beak with a male blackbird. Not seen any blackbirds here yet, since they were feeding young. Usually pick them up early with the hedgehog camera.

Female blackbird in my hawthorn this morning. First I have seen for several months, in the garden that is.
