For the last few evening I have been able to enjoy a mini "murmuration" from my back patio. The main flock looks to be about 200 birds while other smaller flocks do their own aerobatics in the same vicinity and occasionally merging. I have not seen this in previous years and I have no idea where they will come down to roost. The river is not far away so I'm assuming there is a hands bed of rushes to accommodate them all.
Wow! What a treat to be able to see such a wonderful miracle from your own patio

Nice to see JS, have never seen it myself, apart from on the tv.
I went to see one at Ham Wall nature reserve, drove over 2 hours specially to see them perform
, and it was so worth it, absolutely magical unforgettable experience!
There was between 40000 and 50000 of them murmurating when I went

Few very noisy fledglings have arrived here. Unmistakable this time.

The young starlings have been in my garden all day today and haven't been silent at any time.

My numbers are building, but they seem quiet.

A first for me and what a surprise. A rosy starling in the garden this morning.
