I don't know if he didn't see me standing near the garden fence, or he was being cheeky, but my robin (have to think of a name for him :D ) flew over the fence and just missed my head  . I felt the air move from his wings! Crazy bird :D

Robin back this morning, I have hung up a dish with some soaked mealworms in it just to see how it goes. Don't have live ones yet as I am waiting for the pied wagtails to arrive.

Is your robin still around Willpar? I hope so, they are such a joy to have around :)
I don't think I've ever seen a pied wagtail  , where do they arrive from? Should I expect them too?

Never seen the robin this morning.

Buterfly, I have a pair of pied wagtails camp out here in the carpark from around November till late February early March. I feed them all winter with live mealworms. If you look in birds here then pied wagtails, you will see my post. Have had them now for several years. I think they more than likely come in from the countryside. Supermarket carparks are a favourite place for them to hang out as well. They get down in the shopping precinct here for the winter.Looking for crumbs that people drop.

With the cold snap forecast, I could get them any time now.
