First I have seen it this season. One of the chicks appears to be feeding itself at Glaslyn.

Loch Arkaig - chicks have been ringed but don't know when this was done. There are two males and a female.

At 14.48 today, KC2 (female) took to the skies and fledged. She is 50 days old. For the past dew days she has been standing at the edge of the nest. KC3 (male) is 49 days old and could fledge anytime.

I just watched the video of the fledge, beautiful! :flying: well done KC2  . It was so sweet to watch the mum being so nervous and watching attentively while KC2 was helicoptering

One of the chicks is wing flapping and helicoptering. Not sure if it is KC2 or one of the other chicks (can't see the blue ring to identify).

I found the time when the chick was helicoptering, and took a screenshot, I believe its was KC3. KC2 is eating and KC4 is trying to avoid helicoptering sibling landing on him/her

Its a bit difficult to see but its the best I could capture.

Now one of the chicks at Loch Arkaig is feeding itself. No signs of attempts to fledge yet, they are a bit behind the Glaslyn chicks.

One chick being fed and another preening itself. Looks like KC2 is away for some exercise. No word of any of the other chicks having fledged.

Loch Artkaig chicks just been on Breakfast TV. Viewers were asked to name them. The names are as follows.

JJ6 (male) - Doddie (Doddie Weir - Scottish Rugby)
JJ7 (male) - Captain (Captain Tom Moore)
JJ8 (female) - Vera (Vera Lynn)

Glaslyn - KC2 off the nest frequently. One of the other chick (not sure which) doing a lot of 'wing flapping' but not quite at the 'helicoptering' stage yet.
