Yes nuthatch, another disappointing year at Loch of the Lowes. Unfortunately Lady is no spring chicken now.

Loch Garten chicks are doing very well and growing quick.

Lady is still sitting on her eggs (the two that are left anyway). Below how long the birds have been incubating. Not sure which egg was taken by the Carrion Crow.

Egg 1: 66 days since being laid
Egg 2: 63 days since being laid
Egg 3: 60 days since being laid

Don't think it will be too long before the Lowes staff remove the eggs under licence. No birds on the nest at the moment.

Lady still sitting on the eggs - day 68 for the first laid egg.

Loch Garten chicks doing well.

Link to Caerlaverock nest and chicks - they are looking good.

This is the 70th day since the first egg was laid at Loch of the Lowes and Lady is still sitting.

I'm sure Loch of the Lowes Staff will have the license to remove the eggs once Lady stops incubating. It was day 70 last year.

Aye nuthatch, heard about it a wee bit earlier. Very sad indeed.

I think this happened a few years ago with EJ. Her resident partner then, Henry, was late in returning and she teamed up with another male and she laid three eggs. When Henry returned he ousted the other male and kicked the eggs out of the nest. It was then too late to raised another brood.

Wonder if the Loch of the Lowes Ospreys have given up. Haven't seen a bird on the nest for some time.
