Ospreys
Re: Ospreys
Loch of the Lowes
Chick Number 2 was seen just after daybreak this morning. At 6.40 last night the first crack appeared on the egg. This is the 40th day of incubation, three day longer than norm for this female. Third chick may appear tomorrow in norm incubation time returns.
Loch Garten
EJ just returned to her nest. Pretty sure I could see a chick before EJ settled down.

Have just seen the two chicks and egg at Loch of the Lowes
LF15 turned around on the nest.
I'm sure there used to be sound at Loch Garten (??)

Re: Ospreys
Not looking good at Loch Garten. No EJ or Odin and no sign of any chicks. Looks like the season here is over.
Re: Ospreys
Tragic events at Loch Garten. Still no sign of Odin. Staff assume EJ will return to the nest and wait for Odin. Or court with another male for next season. Odin has been a good partner/father but has fell short these last two years. They are not sure of his age, maybe around twelve. Could be at the age he cannot see off Young Pretenders anymore.
Things are looking well at Loch of the Lowes.

All quiet at Loch Garten. Still no sign of Odin. EJ seen on a tree beside the nest tree. There is another male hanging around.
Re: Ospreys
At least one chick (eldest) is at the Dinosaur stage of development. Smallest chick (5 days between them) is growing steady and will catch up eventually.
