A woman's remarkable relationship with Australian magpies.

Good find Dunnock. I enjoyed that.
I had heard the noises the Magpies make in the background of Aussie TV programmes but didn't know which bird It was. Now I do

Just recently, I have had Crows, Rooks and Jackdaws coming to the bird table. This is the first time it has ever happened since I started feeding the birds. Any suggestion as to how I can stop them. They have become a nuisance.

If it is a table with a roof on, could try chicken wire. Will let smaller birds in but not the large ones. Makes it a bit more difficult to get the food in there though. Failing that could get a cage feeder to hang up.

I get Jackdaws all year round but they are most frequent during the period they are feeding nestlings. Have you changed your feeding pattern recently? Corvids are clever and can be persistent so my advice would be to withdraw what is attracting them for a couple of days.
