If this little beauty is a different visitor from February then there are 2 males (good at maths !!) in the vicinity - I hope !!

Only now do I understand how difficult it is to capture a turtle dove on the hoof  :photo:

A little bit hazy, I know, but that's probably because I haven't cleaned the windows since Christmas.

Keep hoping we might have a good enough day before August Bank Holiday :sun: . If not, there's always next year.

Radio 4 at just before 6 am each weekday has a lovely little 1.5 minutes showcasing the call and a story about a different bird. Toady, we had a lady sneaking in 2  and the story went something like .....

She has been in Stralya and was fascinated by the numbers, and the colours of the various birds down there.
Returning to Ingerland she recalled said galahs, kookaburras and most of all, trees full of budgies and wished she could see a bullfinch - she'd never seen one - and her favourite birdie, a goldfinch, suddenly turned up for a moment which caused much celebration .
I have a hazy feeling that she is somewhere Down Souf and was surprised that she's never seen a bullie and a goldie was a First.

A lovely lady bullfinch this a.m. She was inside the ground cage when I spotted her, feeding away quite happily. Then into the smaller pyrawotsit and found something interesting in or on the leaves . All in all I watched her for about 3 mins. Day Made .
