They must have come to my garden greenfinch2
. I was thrilled to see a bunch of goldfinches in my garden feeding from the hanging feeder for the first time
, absolutely gorgeous! It was about 6-7 of them, they've been very vocal for few days now in the nearby trees, been hearing them sing and chatter quite a lot but couldn't see them properly till this morning when they all flew together to my garden

2 goldies this morning
. I like to think they were a pair. Had a look at freshly served breakfast, and flew to next door's birdtable
.

I get Starling, House Sparrow, Blue and Coal Tit, Robin and Goldfinch chicks coming into feed at this time of the year. Goldfinch chick this year appear to be younger than usual. Normally they have the black, white and yellow on their wings but this year the yellow is very faint and not as bright as normal. From this I assume the chicks are younger.

Still getting very young Goldfinch chicks. Wing colours just beginning to change. Must be from a very late brood.

I don't think they lose their fledging plumage until the first moult later this year.
