I topped the feeders up before we went on holiday. Returned home to find that a family of 6 Goldfinches had taken over the Niger feeder.
A lovely sight !

Posted a video a few week ago of Goldfinches and Starling on my feeders . This was after I started feeding sunflower heart. There must be close of forty (I can't count them all) Goldfinches on many occasions in my garden during the day. They are on the feeders, willow tree, columnar cherry tree and even on the grass. Will need to try and video again. Its an amazing sight.

Word soon gets around when there is a good supply of hearts to be had. My Goldfinches are frequent visitors but never in numbers such as yours peregrine. 40 is astonishing but it must cause some squabbling amongst the different parties. :goodevil: :fence:
