Feeding the two robins today, one either side of the patio wall to prevent fisticuffs !!, when down comes one of the blue tits who was begging for mealies when the babies were in the nestbox. Threw a worm to it and off it flew. Little later back came both of them !!
Haven't seen either since the fledglings took off but they both came back 3 times.

Don't know whether the youngsters are still around, couldn't hear them, and I don't know how long they stick with the parents.
Very pleased to renew old acquaintances though :)

The two blueys came again today - and they ARE still feeding the young ones ! I actually saw the deed 'cos one adult flew into next door's tree which is close to me and there was a baby. Beak opened and mealie was immediately shoved in.
How long will this go on ?!?!? It must be almost a fortnight since they quit the nestbox.

If Mum and Dad are daft enough to keep bringing the food why would junior try looking for itself?

We had 4 fledglings this year, but rather than build the nest in the nest box with the camera, the built it in what our granddaughter made in school some 5 years ago, (Pic to follow) its been moved around the garden that many times it fell apart, so I fixed it all up put it on a brush stale and stuck it between the pyrawatits. oh and a woodpecker.

Yes, I remember now - all the choosing of the action and stitching it all together. Unforgettable though

Just had a blue tit sort of inside, making its way along the ridge where the window closes :bird2:
