After further consideration it quite possibly could be a Reed Bunting. I think the hints of green may have nudged me in the wrong direction. I will wind my neck in and apologise for doubting you.Kev wrote:I say reed bunting cos there was an adult in the same tree, next branch along.

Lots this morning,Sparrows, Sturks,Dunnocks they make as much noise as the Sturks,and Blackbirds,I have an old crows nest beside the back door and thethe Goldfinches get insects from it very busy today.

Two goldfinch fledglings turned up today . I was beginning to think it was a poor year for them.

If you see yellow rather than pale green around the rump are I suppose it could be. Have three Goldfinch chicks coming to the feeders. One still being fed by an adult.

This morning I had a very young looking Jackdaw fledgling being fed by a parent bird. I attach a not very good photo.
