A Jackdaw gathering nesting material in the front garden. I think that is a first for the chateau gardens.

Mrs. Blackbird with a beakful of moss and very busy she looked too. Himself was nowhere to be seen

I very rarely see the Sparrowhawk that patrols my area. He turned up today and found a Starling to have for lunch

Very sorry, particularly as sturks are on the decline. However, all part of Life's rich tapestry and all that.

A rare event - a jay !! But not only a rare event but two rare events = 2 jays !!!
The couple were in the severely cropped silver birch and I suppose the reason they hung around for at least 30 seconds
was that there happened to be no ground food out at that moment.

Never mind it could have happened to any of us
Have a quiet word in the caterer's ear to make sure your food offer is kept up to standard.
