For me a visit from a Coal Tit is a cause for celebration. Tonight I celebrate

After months of absence two Nuthatches back on the bird table. One smaller than the other. Not sure if a pair and if so which one is the female, larger or smaller. Bird books don't really say.

Wow, nuthatches. Never seen them in my garden. But have seen them down the woods, which is only a short distance away.

My bird books don't differentiate size either so have to go with adult and juve.
Great spot.

After last week's celebrations at the arrival of a Coal Tit I thought the chances of requiring the fizzy wine again were very slim. However I had not thought a visit from a Wren was very likely having not seen on for about 18 months :( It just goes to show how wrong you can be. There it was and availing itself of the bathing facilities too.

This is all I could find on the internet - so I agree with all that they are probably adult and juvenile.
