A Grey Heron arrived in my garden about 8.40 am. Unfortunately it's visit was cut short by myself as I happened to be dealing with the recycling at the same moment. They are big birds when you see them up close :wow:

When I opened the door today, I startled one of my blackbirds who was about to have breakfast. I stopped and whistled gently and he stopped and turned around, clearly trying to decide whether I am a danger or not  . I guess by this time they (the birds) saw me quite a few times so he decided that I am not going to attack him and slowly came back to his eating spot :D . Really lovely to see that :)
On the other hand, I was not pleased to see my robin, Mr Pavarotti, having a scuffle with another robin :fence: , and this is the second time they've been chasing each other :(

A couple of goldfinches visited my feeder earlier and had a nice sit down meal
Yesterday, a bunch of LLTs landed on the feeder and immediately, I saw a blue tit bullying them
The battle went on for a while, LTTs made bluey chase one at the time while others grabbed a seed :chuckle:
But than Mr Pavarotti the robin felt compelled to get involved and chase them all off

At 0750 in poor light and a howling gale a male Sparrowhawk arrived looking for breakfast. There was none to be had as the other birds were having a lie in. He perched on the fence ,which was wobbling like crazy, peering hopefully in the neighbour's garden and was unlucky yet again. He then departed, unfed, I know not where. :shake:

I thought I saw a male Blackcap today on the fatballs. It was fleeting glimpse and could have been a sparrow.

 What an amazing experience, Jacksparrow  That has to be The Meggle of The Month spot (maybe).
Had a very similar happening - saw a blue-tailed cassowary on the suet cake :faint: :magnify: but it was a fleeting glimpse and could have been a sparrow.
