WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
First chicks I usually get are Starlings, but not this year. I've a family of House Sparrows that feed under the bird table.

I saw a poorly looking Woodie It sat on the fence looking very fluffed up and occasionally shaking it's head. If had been a Greenfinch I would have said tricho for sure.

Sorry to hear that Jack, its always sad to see a sick bird . You never know, it might recover. Lets keep our fingers crossedJacksparrow wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 8:27 pmI saw a poorly looking Woodie It sat on the fence looking very fluffed up and occasionally shaking it's head. Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Poorly Pidge turned up again today looking very slightly less poorly It continues to keep on stretching it's neck and shaking its head a little and I'm not certain it is seeing or hearing as well as it should. However it flies confidently and has no trouble landingJacksparrow wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 8:27 pmI saw a poorly looking Woodie It sat on the fence looking very fluffed up and occasionally shaking it's head. A male Mandarin Duck. Usually they are escapees from collections but there are some feral flocks scattered around the country.
