I imagine they have been nesting there for a thousand years. I occasionally caught snatches of the Latin vulgate.
Must be some very old HMs

I have seen no sign of my Swifts this week. Have they started back to sub-Saharan Africa or gone higher in the sky above the clouds?

No Swifts in Dumfries for at least three weeks, all gone.

I think most of them departed when the cooler,damper weather kicked in during the first 10 days of August. Empty skies until may 2018

Not seen any swallows here for the past 2-3 days. Don't care for these empty skies.

Set out for my walk this morning, got less than a hundred yards along the road and low and behold, a swallow flying over the rooftops. First swallow of the new season folks.
