The swifts in D&G are conspicuous by their absence for more that a week now.

Frankly I'm surprised you've had them this long.

Not quite over yet. Got to the end of my street heading out for a walk, and 10-12 swallows flew over heading for the coast. They were low enough to make a positive id.

Not an April fools, but outward bound on my walk this morning I spotted two swallows over the village. On my way back I spotted one. Three swallows of the new season is not bad.

The Swallows will wish they were back in sunny France for the next couple of days :cold2:
I was at Weston-super -Mare yesterday and I saw a couple of Sand Martins. :)

It is going to be 12 months on the 13th May that I reported my first Swifts of the year. With the weather as it is at present I'm thinking I may have a little longer to wait this year.

This evening I happened to look skywards to see about 10 Swifts swooping around(as they do) and slowly working their way northwards. :woohoo:

Plenty of House Martins flying around. Swallows are probably here but I just haven't seen on yet. Swifts will arrive later this month.
