Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Good visitor to have butterfly. I have had them come in, but not for a few winters now.

That's really fab greenfinch2
, such a lovely bird
. I haven't seen it again since that day, I really hope it wasn't just passing by and comes back for some food again . I haven't seen any sparrows since summer either, which is bothering me
, hoping to see them too.
My little wren seem to be establishing herself here though, which is just fab! She was very active on the feeders today
, as well as all the usual suspects

They may have been Redwings. Song Thrushes are not gregarious.Butterfly wrote:I counted 11 song thrushes in the tree outside my house![]()

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I saw one of my Sparrows inspecting the Sparrow Terrace. I thought this was the quiet period in avian house hunting.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Spotted a flash of white in the largest pyrawotsit this morning. I thought it might be an unusual visitor but couldn't tell what type. Got a little excited that it might be a ptarmigan or an osprey
until it obligingly flew down onto the grass.
It was a sparrow with a piece of bread in its beak
