A very lonely Greenfinch. By its markings I'd say a first winter juvenile but very welcome as I'd not seen a Greenfinch for a couple of months.

Today I am happy man. I moved my feeding station to a more central position in the garden as we get cats sitting on the fence. Since I moved it yesterday I have had some great fits feeding. Still getting magpies trying it and pinching my suet.

Magpies have been thieving for millennia. If there's an opportunity they will take it.johnd83 wrote:Today I am happy man. Logical that the birds will feel safer feeding further away from the threat of cats. No doubt some pix will be forthcoming .......

On my way round with the doggy this morning, a flock of around 50 fieldfares/ or redwings.Could not get a good look at them.
