The berries on the ivy are being eaten by the Woodies. The berries are still green but seem irresistible to the pigeons, The was 7 of them gobbling them down this morning.

I saw two Dunnocks doing a mating display!
It takes more than a little freezing weather to delay their love life.

The male blackcap has been with me for a few weeks now but there was no sign of the female. Today she appeared pushing and shoving on the SF seed feeder with the goldfinches and the greenfinches.

Good spot JS, not seen any here in over a week now. Will bring in the cameras tomorrow to see what has been around.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
We all know corvids are quite clever but my Jackdaws have been using a new tactic. The starling are untidy and selective when using the seed feeders and any fallen seed is being mopped by the feral pigeons and the jackdaws. However when the starlings decide to go elsewhere the jackdaws have found that flying directly at the feeder is enough to make seed from from the feeding ports. If there are other jackdaws waiting for the fallen food so much the better.
