Yeah I dread to think how many are in our guttering, lol! It's due for a clean about now, I don't think I'll want the nuts now though..

Re: BIRD FEEDING
The chaotic period after the Starlings fledge has now passed and the garden feeders are returning to normal. My usual birds have returned and the amount of food consumed daily is back to what I expect.

Re: BIRD FEEDING
It has been a very quiet week for the feeders. Only a small number of birds are coming at present. Even the feral pigeons are only coming in 2s and 3s.
Re: BIRD FEEDING
Plenty of food out in the wild. Am getting plenty of purple droppings at the moment.

Re: BIRD FEEDING
It has been a very cold week but most of the time I've been able to have water available in at least one of the bird baths or the ponds. Last night was the coldest so far and all their water was frozen solid. It was a minimum of one inch thick on the ponds. Using hot water and a jug I managed to thaw out one of the bird baths and let the birds have a drink. But it wasn't just a drink they wanted! The sparrows and the starlings wanted a bath too so I spent the afternoon going out toping up the bird bath to maintain the water level.
Re: BIRD FEEDING
Well done for keeping the water supply going. Have only had that twice in the past week or so.
