Re: WHAT I DIDN'T SEE TODAY
It has become very quiet in my garden. I am getting birds but it seems numbers have reduced again. for some reason the Golfinches are not coming like they have been . On the upside I did see a Chaffinch.
Re: WHAT I DIDN'T SEE TODAY
My numbers seem stable at the moment. Have never had a chaffinch in the garden though.

Re: WHAT I DIDN'T SEE TODAY
My garden has become a lot quieter in the last 5 days. I am still getting a few birds but less than I expect at this time of year. I'm thinking they have been frightened by a Sprawk but I am seeing more cats than I would like.

I think I have found out the problem. I looked out the back window this morning to see a Buzzard sitting on the fence between myself and next door. I also saw the little birds flying off with a lot of twittering.Jacksparrow wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:54 pmMy garden has become a lot quieter in the last 5 days. Must say lately that the garden is having some very quiet moments. Don't seem to be any particular reason. Usually busy first thing then goes quiet after that.

Re: WHAT I DIDN'T SEE TODAY
What I didn't see today or any other day for some time now is a Collared Dove. Not so long ago there always seemed to be a least a pair hanging around waiting to get on the SFH feeder but I haven't seen one for months.
I have not read anything suggesting they were struggling but my own theory is that they've been hit hard by the bird flu. Perhaps it is just in my area.

Re: WHAT I DIDN'T SEE TODAY
Have never had one in my garden, although have seen them in the general area in the past.

I suspected that was the case. After I said I hadn't seen one for ages I did see two on my neighbours fence that afternoon.Butterfly wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 9:35 pmMust be your area, I have loads of them, at least 10 every day, lost the countJacksparrow wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 7:44 pmWhat I didn't see today or any other day for some time now is a Collared Dove.
