As I was walking past Caerphilly castle this evening, I saw a kingfisher sat on a rock at the edge of the moat. What a lovely little bird. I'm sure I've never seen one in real life before. I walked towards it but it flew into a bush.

Twitchers out with the cameras looking for the Four Northern LTT ,lovely little birds but I felt out of place with my little pocket camera.

In the garden this morning. Bluetit, wren, blackbird, sparrows, starlings, pied wagtail, and wood pigeon.

Still sturks and no visitors yet but the wax wings have arrived in places.

For some reason there are forecasts that his year will be a "Waxwing year" when they pop up almost anywhere there is some food to be had.
