I'm sure we ought to have a 'First signs of Spring' thread :D
It comes earlier each year

The Woodland Trust has an interesting project called 'Natures calendar' ...........

A good idea for a thread. A couple of us have made comments in other threads about flowers appearing and in my case Bluebell leaves shoving through.

:tree: I liked the idea of that Nature's Calendar but when I looked at it a couple of years ago I was completely bamboozled by the detail in it - all the different varieties of one flower etc - and couldn't be sure what I would be recording was accurate :dragonfly:

I was a bit dismayed by it all really :( but it must be riveting if you are more knowledgeable and able to recognise the differences in the flowers, plants, insects etc. :flower:

Blue Tits and Great Tits have been investigating the nesting boxes. The Collared Doves have been a cootin' and this site won't allow me to say what the Woodpigeons have been doing .....

Just found a Peacock Butterfly in the shed. It was on the underside of a sheet of plywood. It was exercising its wings, so I put it back carefully.
I wonder how long it will be before it ventures out? :butterfly:

I have noticed that the tips of my Bluebell leaves have started pushing through. Nothing like making an early start. :)
