No free swimming Tadders thus far as they are busing consuming their birth jelly.

The tadpoles are growing well. The newts are still eating them but having little impact on the numbers. :)

I am having to feed the Tadders now. Cheap and cheerful pond fish food has proved very acceptable and disappears rapidly. :)

While trawling for duckweed in the small pond I accidently caught the first four legged tadpole for this year. It still had it's tail but the conversion from tadpole to froglet is nearly complete. :)

I still have plenty of tadpoles some of which seem to have remained small but today I have seen three Froglets in the garden. I am delighted that we have a result after the "beast from the east" came very close to killing all the spawn. The little frogs have a long battle to survive to adulthood but they have got past the most dangerous stage. :frog: :frog: :frog: :woohoo:
