I saw my first Foglet of the year today
Just a fleeting glimpse as it leapt from the vicinity of my size nines to the safety of the wildlife pond where I assume it comes from. This is quite early for my ponds and I was completely unaware that any were that mature.

The Tadpoles in the former fish pond have started taking less of the food I scatter. There are still quite few that don't seem to have matured very quickly but I do know that once the legs start sprouting they stop taking the fish pellets. What has struck me this time is that it happened virtually overnight

I had a bit of a tidy up around the ponds today and disturbed several Froglets. Their existence makes me think that this years efforts to keep the Tadpoles fed were successful. They are still small but if I'm seeing them there must be plenty around.Note to Self "Look where you're treading while out in the garden!"
