This is the project I have been doing. Is only 4ftx3 ft and preformed. Fits in quite nicely though still have some landscaping to do around the edges. All the plants are native species and flower.

Even a small water feature has an effect for lots of animals. It looks as though hogs will be able to get out if they fall in. A small word of caution, the water weed you had chosen is very vigorous and will crowd out everything else unless you keep it under control.

Thank you js, by water weed do you mean the green stuff floating? I found a place online and got the plants from there. They do collections of native water plants per size of space. What i got are as follows:-
Amphibious Bistort,
Lesser Spearwort,
Brooklime,
Marsh Marigold,
Hornwort,
Water Mint.
As i dont know much about water plants had to put some faith in the supplier. The stuff floating says it is an oxygenator.

It is an oxygenator but as I said it is very vigorous once it is established. I have some in both my ponds and have to get loads out every year to give everything else a chance.

I love how it has different levels for a big variety of species that like different water depths/temps. I'm sure you'll also get bathing birds and drinking mammals too. That's exactly what I'd have if I had a garden!

Thank you Kev. Will be interesting to see how it turns out. Still a few months left in the growing season before it starts to die back. was thinking for next year to put a camera on it, day and night. Was an ideal size for the space that there was in the garden.

100% agree with a camera on it. I think you'll get a lot of action.

Have a spare camera that can use.

See that the pond has tiny little wriggly things. Could that be mosquito larvae? Also filaments of green now growing on the sides. Take it that is algae.
