I left them to decide where to go next. My other pond a short hop away is available and unsullied for the time being.

The first frogs of spring 2019 appeared today :frog: :) I definitely spotted five and one of them came up to the patio door and looked in at us this evening :frog: :magnify:

The new crop are obviously rather 'forward' this season in both senses of the word.

The frog count has reached 25 today and pairing up has begun. :frog:  :frog:
A word of caution. I've checked my posts from 12 months ago and there were plenty of frogs to be seen. Then.......a few days later after spawning had commenced.......The Beast from the East :( :freezing: :snow:

Thats a nice number Jack  , soon there will be many more little frogs
I don't think we will have a repeat of The Beast from the East :freezing: this year, or at least I hope not

Plenty of la dolce vita. Much carousing and sweet nothings in the ears but no spawn thus far. This time last year there was plenty of it :(

Still no spawn and I'm beginning to suspect that there are too few mature females to go round. I have plenty of singletons but very few pairs.
On a lighter note the showers of rain we've had today produces an odd phenomenon where most of the frogs emerge from the pond and run around in a rather aimless manner. As soon as the rain stops they return to the ponds
