I was thinking yesterday that the Frogs were slow in retuning to my ponds this year. There have been a couple present for a couple of weeks but no sign of the usual influx at spawning time. Today it has started with half a dozen splashing around getting into the embrace position.

Well that didn't take long. First blob of spawn in the pond this morning. :) Usually there are a couple of days of shilly-shallying and cavorting before they get to the job in hand. Not this year though :wow:

I inspected the spawn today and saw the first wrigglings of the tadders in the middle of the jelly. :)

Is this wriggly phenomenon right on time, Jacksparrow, or early - or late ??

Just about on time I think. My ponds don't get warmed by the sun until march so I never get early spawn.
